Water

My favourite drink after... milk, of course. I love water. We all do I suppose as it is essential for the survival of all known forms of life. During and after a long plane trip it is more essential than ever. I got this bottle from Coles Supermarket today and it informed me that Elysha drinks 2 litres a day. Well, it is very good on her, whoever she is. I personally probably drink more than this, especially at the moment.

Coffee

Coffee! It is an essential of any morning for tons of people. It is also a social place at work where people informally share company's information. To be honest, I have never been a coffee person. I even despised the smell for a while. Give me an English Breakfast tea anytime. Oddly, I moved in that house in Darwin nearly two months ago and it was fitted with an extremely user friendly and convenient coffee machine. I had to give it a try and started to acquire a test for the brew. In a matter of months, I now have the impression I am already addicted. When I move out of this place, I just wonder if I will get back to my tea mood or if I will continue to ask for my morning coffee!

Australian Products

Every country has its own specificities in terms of products. You can only associate Australia with Vegemite, Cherry Ripes, VB, Turkish Delights, Tim Tams and Ginger Beer. I will certainly tell youa bit more about the aforementioned products at one point or another. Ginger Beer is one of my favourite drinks. It has been produced for over 40 years from the town of Bundaberg in Queensland. It is a brewed product made using dried ginger root from the local area mixed with Queensland Cane Sugar and water. Despite its 'beer' name it is a soft drink and contains no alcohol. This is why I love it so much!

Traditional Drink For Hot Summer Days

It is not every day I feature a drink. But this one is very special. In India it is called Sambharam. I had a couple of glasses at a Keralite restaurant tonight as well as tasting it a few times in the past. It is made of butter milk which is a fermented sour milk lower in fat than regular milk as the fat has already been removed to make butter. As a result it does not actually contain any butter (shouldn't it be called nobuttermilk then?) and do not get confused with Lassi as it does not share anything with it in terms of consistency and taste. But mind you, it is not for delicate palates. It is stuffed with salt, grated ginger and green chillies. Spicy but so refreshing!
